Mac Baren Black Ambrosia Pipe Tobacco 40g
It all began in Svendborg, a delightful little town with a picturesque port in the cold waters of the Baltic Sea, in Denmark. Here, a small tobacco manufacturer opened in 1826.
The Mac Baren blends were so successful that in 1995 the company’s name changed to The Mac Baren Tobacco Company.
To this day, Mac Baren Tobacco Company belongs 100% to the Halberg family, which has for a generous four generations guided it to become one of the leaders on the pipe tobacco market, ranking Mac Baren as the second largest producer in the world.
These days, Mac Baren brand is recognised as a synonym for quality by smokers across the globe and we could not be prouder of our history and extremely grateful to everyone who, with their hard work, commitment and devotion, has contributed to writing this history.
“A complex mix of subtle aromas inspired by the sweetness of the Virginia leaf.”
It’s a ready rubbed preparation of high-quality Virginias, Burleys and Orientals from three continents, that have been layered, pressed, aged, cut and rubbed, ready for you to enjoy the married full flavours of.
The quality of the leaf is visible and tangible as you open the rather luxurious looking pouch. The aroma is of pure tobacco and minimal additives, which will surely please most who experience it.
Black Ambrosia – the word alone connotes savoury visions and elevates your expectations, because Ambrosia ”was the food of the gods and goddesses in Greek mythology”.
As the name suggests, Black Ambrosia contains a very high proportion of Modern Mac Baren Cavendish, with only a little loose cut bright Virginia added.
This blend consists solely of Virginia tobaccos, which is rather rare as the majority of blends contain a little Burley tobacco.
This Cavendish is truly something extraordinary, and from its completion in 1983 right up to today, it has been used in numerous new Mac Baren blends. The rounded, slightly sweetish Cavendish is widely known as: Modern Mac Baren Cavendish.
