Initially the flavours are cedar with grassy hints slowly building in flavour, while never reaching anything extreme, the later half hints of Coffee and Leather can be detected. Smoking this cigar straight from the tube can often produce some bitter harsh flavours, so allowing the cigar to breathe for a few days prior to smoking will allow the cigar to taste its best.

The History of Charatan Cigars

Charatan began in 1863 when Frederick Charatan opened a tobacco shop in Mansell Street, London. There are many stories to tell; from the Charatan family’s involvement until 1960 to the exclusive, highly popular cigars produced by Dunhill Tobacco of London in the 90’s that made Charatan cigars the #1 Nicaraguan brand in the UK. The Charatan story has continued for 150 years.

To reinvigorat the brand, Tor Imports Ltd acquired Charatan from Dunhill Tobacco of London with the ambition of improvment.

In 2018 they transferred the production of Charatan cigars to Joya De Nicaragua; the country’s renowned tobacco factory. This allowed them to maintain the unique blend of high-grade tobaccos and ensured that they could offer a premium handmade cigar at an affordable price.

Charatan’s new era combines legacy and mythology with a very bright future for the the brand.
